I may have made it from a box but it was pretty tasty and loads of fun making all the swirls. And topped with some left over frosting from my when I made my Dad's cake; well we were on to a winner. A perfect pud for a Sunday after our roast.

sometimes on a sunday.
^ Sunday morning's breakfast was pretty good too ^
Sometimes you just need a Sunday roast; today is that day. We had initial plans of inviting some friends round and having a traditional family afternoon lunch, instead, we scaled it down. That's right, we made it just us (I feel like saying 'and the dog' which would just be perfect, but we can't have one just yet). We had a typical Sunday, of a late start to the day, strolls, films football and hearty lunch. Next time I swear will be more welcoming and invite people (we did have people over on Friday so we haven't been complete recluses this week), I mean its fast approaching autumn, which means it'll be perfectly acceptable to cook a roast every Sunday.

by the riverside.
I really love strolling along the river when its nice out. It was so cloudy when we first headed out so by the time the sun hit I was melting in my jeans. I seem to make this error a lot. We had a little wonder before deciding that jeans really were bad and headed for home.
You can hire rowing boats and go up and down the river. I'm convinced that I'd get stuck and people will have to come and rescue us. Alex assures me it'll be fine and so if the weather gets nice again I think we're going to head out on the river.

Sunday Funday
We watched: Buffy.
We ate: paninis.
We strolled: around Richmond.
We imagined: spending our money on lots of nice and new things.
It reaffirmed: that we both need to have our weekends off together.

the bowling party where I didn't bowl...
..instead I was an avid supporter. I am no fan of bowling and so when it came roud to this date I decided to cheer on Alex and friends, and drink gin. A much better idea I think you'll agree?! I did, however, rock the arcade; racing, air hockey, shooting hoops- I was on a roll. It was certainly different from our usual Sunday nights.

i love you in the morning...
I love weekends; I love Sundays. I've never hidden my love for Sundays (here) but most Sundays I work (boo). Sunday before last was a perfect one and very much reminded me of home. We shopped, watched a family film and ate a roast, followed by a homemade pudding. It's safe to say we were all sleepy after that and pretty much rolled our way into bed! It was lovely- all that was missing was a nice warm fire and the dogs sleeping in front of it.

This Sunday was a good one too, if I ignore getting out of my toasty bed to head to work. The evening was filled with more homemade food, good friends and a few glasses of wine. And the heating was on...cozy and a little warmer! I need all my Sundays like these.

a royal day out.
Last Sunday, armed with slightly sore heads from the night before and money to spend me and mum headed off to Windsor. Even though I live so close it was the first time I'd been. I'd wanted to go for ages and mum and I wanted to go somewhere new. Windsor it was...and it didn't disappoint.
We didn't seem to buy very much but it was nice just pottering around (we visited Eton too). There were some lovely shops filled with everything that I love; it's actually surprising why my purse wasn't empty and my shopping bags full, but still.
I'm definitely going to go back there to explore more- do the gardens and peak around the castle more. I'm hoping that they have a Christmas market or something there as I can imagine how beautiful it will be decked out in fairy lights.

park life.
With the recent sun we've had and no garden to enjoy it in, we've been making recent trips to the park. We did this last Sunday and it was lovely, especially since we had our friend, who we haven't seen since last easter, come up and visit us for a couple of days.

easter.
I hope you all had a lovely easter and enjoyed your time off. I had to work Friday and Saturday but I definitley enjoyed having a Sunday off. Here are just a few snaps from our easter Sunday. We spent the whole day in our pjs and just chilled out. I was somewhat productive and did manage to write a fair bit of my essay, not bad considering we managed to squeeze in three films and a roast into our day!

mary mary quite contrary...
It's sunny days like this that I miss having a garden the most. Of course today, like yesterday, will be spent at work but I would still like the option, when I'm not at work, to sit out in our garden and enjoy the limited amount of good weather England has to offer. From our flat I can see everyone else's gardens and I feel envious and annoyed, especially as these people seem to never be out in their gardens! I suppose when I lived at home I was the same, never out in the garden, doing other things. It just goes to show that you take things for granted until they're gone. Today would be perfect for a sunny afternoon walk in the sun, stopping off somewhere for a drink in a beer garden or by the river and then coming home for the first bbq of the year. But alas, it's another full day in at work with no natural light coming in but at the door. Don't worry sun, we will meet soon.

sundays.
I wish they were spent in the sunshine, outdoors, or curled up under a duvet watching films. The truth is I very rarely get Sundays off as I always have work. The only time I get them off is when I book holiday (my next sunday off is taken up by a christening); I can't wait to have a saturday or sunday off (wouldn't both be amazing?!) and go out with Alex and do alsorts of things. Wake up early and go out for breakfast before going exploring somewhere. I know that by working on Sundays I just have to take advantage of the days off I do have; maybe that'll be easier once I've finished uni, but it just isn't the same. It's like the weekend has a special vibe; you know most other people don't work over it so therefore you shouldn't either.
