bloody valentine.

My friend recently had her birthday and I offered to make the cake; I know, huge pressure on myself to produce. Her birthday theme was Halloween and so I went along those lines for the cake. Spiderwebs; blood and then to make it more dramatic, some hand made roses. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It also turned out to be the heaviest cake I have ever made; it weighed in at around 5kg. I do not envy Alex for carrying all through our journey to get to her party on Saturday.

All in all a very Halloweeny week. Oh and bit of, attempted, graduation dress shopping as well.

When it comes to clothes, I have to admit that these three are up there with the sense of style that I love. Nothing too crazy but simple and elegant lines and colours. I have to remember that these ladies are all 5 foot nothing and I am a lot taller but I reckon I could pull these looks off. My wardrobe is full of old clothes that are fine but, it is just that, they are fine. After 3 odd years (maybe even more) I've got very tired of them. If someone could win the lottery or they just want to donate to my new wardrobe fund that'd be great. I'll just get my handbag and we can hit the shops okay?!

..Christmas! That's right, I've said it. It really is my favourite time of year and, although I started this project weeks ago, I thought I'd share it with you know, especially since it is less than 6 months to go until the big day!

So, this year Alex and I are thinking of going a bit more crafty with our presents over commercial and, as usual, I have a thousand ideas that I want to make, so I decided to start everything off with a Christmas planner and then to start creating.

I picked up this Christmassy paper in the sales in January and have now had a chance to use it. I covered a normal notebook in the paper, then covered it in laminate. Each section in my notebook correlates to present ideas, table decorations etc. (I can't show you presents, in case anyone is reading). At least now, you can see my true love for Christmas and just how early I start thinking about it. And yes, I did also order Home Alone 1 & 2 today!

Big changes this week; I cut all my hair off. I've been thinking about doing it for a while but I took the plunge. I've had short hair before, it's just I've been trying so hard to grow it. But I think it looks alright and it's in a much healthier condition too. I also made a big step with regards to work and I have handed in my notice and I'm off to someone new; it's the same but new. I'm so happy and relieved by it. Apart from that I've been going out (drinking far to much wine) and recovering with great films- yes I did stay in on Saturday to watch Hatry Potter on tv! How was everybody elses week?
