this is it.

Today will be my last day in the job I've had since I first moved to London. In fact, it's all I've ever known even when working back home. I'm now becoming one of the 9-5 gang. It's all very exciting and nerve racking all-in-one.

my week, according to the photos i've taken.

What is happening to the weather this week?! I've been boiling hot one minute, freezing cold the next and I even had to dig out my boots when it decided to become November again! It is not helping me, especially when I'm trying to shop for new things. My friend this Saturday repeatedly told me to put the jumpers down. I may defy her though and go back for at least one of them sometime this week! My new shoes also arrived this week and I love them. After seeing a pair on pinterest a while back (and knowing Steve Madden is not in my price range) I bought these instead and my goodness they're great. Alex and I also had a date to see The Great Gatsby. I remain unconvinced by it; I need to reread the book and then decide, but so far not my favourite film this year.

This week we're going to:

# watch Django.
# start our Buffy marathon.
# try and enjoy some of this weather.

gin bar party.

Last Saturday we headed out for two of Alex's friends' birthdays. There was copious amounts of dancing, food, conversation and gin. I helped set up an (already established) gin bar. If I could have had it my way there would have been fairy lights everywhere but we were at a guys house so alas, no fairy lights were found. However, it was decorated to the best of my ability on a very small budget (£2 worth of things is impressive, fate also helped me find a lemon shaped coaster-perfect for gin!). And so the gin bar was a success- my poorly head told me so the next day.

the bowling party where I didn't bowl...

..instead I was an avid supporter. I am no fan of bowling and so when it came roud to this date I decided to cheer on Alex and friends, and drink gin. A much better idea I think you'll agree?! I did, however, rock the arcade; racing, air hockey, shooting hoops- I was on a roll. It was certainly different from our usual Sunday nights.

summer in the city.

Sometime's it's so nice to have a day off in the week (trust me, I'm still living for that time when I never work weekends, but like I said, sometimes). Wednesday saw the sun shining, my sunglasses breaking and my bad idea of wearing black skinny jeans. Alex and I decided Central London was the place to be and it didn't disappoint (does it ever though?).Shopping, gorgeous food (here), and chilling by St Paul's. It was a pretty fantastic day off.

Oh and to top it all off I almost walked straight into Eddie Izzard- our first major celeb spot. We were pretty pleased with ourselves.

my week, according to the photos i've taken.

Look at all that sun; we sure did make the most of it this week. It was even nicer that we both had the same day off; meant we could really spend some time together. I also got some new nail varnish; and some are quite pale-a new look for me. Don't worry the first one in the group is dark, so I didn't stray too far. And our Sunday was spent bowling, well not for me, but more on that later.

borough market.

When I was younger, I was taken through London Borough Market on a whistle stop tour of London by my gran. It was there that she showed me Bridget Jones' house and the spot where she saw Hugh Grant filming scenes from said movie. Fast forward ten years and I'm passing on those facts to Alex (he appreciated them, I could tell) while we were walking through the market, clutching our delicious lunch. It took us 2 walks round just to make sure we had made the right choice. We settled on a hog roast roll filled with apple sauce, pork and fennel and my goodness was it the right choice.

It was so yummy and it certainly kept us full for the rest of the day- and we needed it, we did a lot of walking.
I'm pretty sure we've decided this is the place to eat; just making our way from stall to stall.
