I don't know about you but being woken up by a pretty intense thunderstorm the other morning was pretty magical. It made me want it to be winter (I've been asking Alex if he could make it be October for the last couple days, he said it wasn't possible!). I'm so looking forward to those darker evenings, snuggled up watching films with copious amounts of tea and popcorn. Anyone else with me?

come in, from out of the cold.
Cold, wintery and slightly snowy days in February are all about settling in to watch the rugby and we did just that. Although we spent the morning out on a massive walk and getting supplies the afternoon was spent making an indoor picnic. We've made indoor picnics before (here) but this one had no bbq food (it was 0 degrees outside after all!); this was all abut crisps, dips, fruit and the winter staple of sausage rolls. What a great way to spend a very cold Saturday afternoon: indoors and in the warm.

it's the happiest season of all.
And it has begun! Yesterday marked 6 weeks (yes six!) until Christmas, but before I get ahead of myself and too excited about tinsel, wrapping paper, bows and glitter, I have to mention last Monday but our Christmas countdown could officially begin.
Every year we go into town and watch a different set of Christmas lights begin turned on and this year we went to Oxford Street. The set up was perfectly Christmassy with a Spice Girl, West End stars, an X Factor winner and Robbie Williams himself. It really did put me in the festive spirit- not that I need an excuse!

Fall.
My friend taught me such a clever way to remember which way the clocks go: 'You spring into summer and fall back into winter.' I love the saying and I love that it's pretty much winter. These months are going to be good, I can tell. Happy Winter Everyone!

winter tones.
While on my trip to Richmond, I went into River Island and my goodness, I could have made a huge dent in my bank balance. So many things I like; I don't know whether to treat myself or start hinting about Christmas presents!
The knitted dress (although with my height I'm guessing it'll be a jumper!) is my favourite and I think if present buying goes well then I may just treat myself to an early present. I just think it is so perfect to make smart or casual. I think it's safe to say I'm in love with it!
